Death Valley National Park has a lot of versitility. For me as a photographer it was a treasure everywhere I looked and hiked. My visit on this round gave me the opportunity for an incredible sunrise dune shoot. As always I love to experience the land and become a part of her as I make pictures. In saying this I hiked from my car and out into the dunes... Much further than I thought. And as I looked to come back the perspective is quite different ... At 9am the cold pre dawn had turned blazingly hot and my feet burning from the sand over filling my shoes.. But I made it back to my car as if never doubting for even a moment that I might be in question of being lost.

Alamogordo New Mexicos White Sands National Monument gave me quite an amazing adventure as I hiked a 5.6 mile Alkali trail through the ever changing sand structures. The winds change the sand formations continuously as if erasing an artist easel readying it for the desert inhabitants to create their art with their footprints.

Field of Poppies bathed in early morning light. The light here caught my eye as it played gently with its colorful subjects. I had 30 minutes maybe to play with the scene. Antelope Canyon near Page AZ. The images in this small slot canyon are created by long exposure and light play. We do not see these colors with our naked eye but the color spectrum is recorded with the long exposure that I make via my shutter. The results are astounding and beautiful.
